Web Content Writer

Digital marketing agency looking for a freelance web copywriter. The work will involve learning about / researching a topic in-depth and generating useful, accurate, and on-brand content for a client.

In this role, the writer will apply the company voice, optimize content for users and SEO, and creatively contribute to writing assignments as well as the client’s overall content initiatives.

This is a contract position and we are looking for someone local to the GTA, willing to make occasional visits to our office in midtown Toronto.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research and draft new content
  • Write engaging, useful, helpful copy
  • Research complicated subjects in order to present the material clearly and concisely
  • Refine content drafts based on feedback from manager and the client
  • Source and confirm all facts and statistics
  • Develop a mastery of subject material

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Addressing the user's intent
  • Understand how to optimize meta description, title tags, headers, subheads, and hypertext
  • Know how to format copy and write for the web

Job Requirements:

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism/English or similar from an accredited university
  • Prior experience writing online

Skills & core competencies:

  • Ability to distill complex topics into easily understood copy
  • Expert knowledge of grammar (experience with AP Style is a plus)
  • Ability to adopt a company's voice

Intermediate/Senior Art Director

Central Station is looking for an Intermediate/Senior Art Director who is excited about doing great work in an exciting, creative Agency. Graphic Designers

The position plays a key role with our experienced core design team and reports directly to the Senior level design staff.

Candidates must show strength in developing strong creative concepts that are inline with the overall vision of the project, from window designs, in-store environments to graphic design.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Participating in client and internal meetings.
  • Working independently and with the Creative Director to develop high level concepts based on client briefing and visual centres.
  • Building out concepts in 3D software and generating concept decks that realistically portray environments and all their components.
  • Working closely with project managers to ensure fabrication is inline with overall vision.
  • Final file preparation for press.

Production Designer

We’re looking to add someone to our fast-paced, high-output, production department. Someone who can work independently or within a team to turn around large scale campaigns, accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for the delivery of final, press ready /assets, on time, to a high level of quality and contractual targets.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative suite (Ai, Ps, Id) and related design/production software.
  • Working closely with Art Directors and Senior Design staff to maintain brand integrity and consistency.
  • Creating and maintaining master templates, archiving completed work and uploading files to various printers/fabricators.
  • Understanding of brand design and branding principles; command of layout and typography.
  • Scaling, cropping, retouching/colour correction, repositioning and preflighting.
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of job history and client-specific information.

SEO & PPC Specialist

We’re Central Station, we’re growing and as a result we’re looking for an experienced SEO & PPC specialist to join our team. The must haves:

  • Minimum 1 year SEO experience with a desirable portfolio
  • Minimum 1 year Google AdWords experience; a valid Google Certification on Search, Display, Video, Mobile and Google Analytics
  • Minimum 1 year of progressive experience in digital/Internet technologies
  • Minimum 1 year experience using WordPress CMS
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS for content editing
  • Excellent skills in Google Analytics and Google Webmaster tools
